Urbanissta
Planning Consultants

Brand identity | Website | Stationery | Literature

Background
Prior to launching her planning consultancy business, Urbanissta, Jo Hanslip asked Origin 1 to create the branding, as well as produce the website, report covers and various printed materials. During the initial conversations, Jo conveyed her passion for the architecture and design of many of the buildings she helped bring to reality, and this influenced the design direction taken and the imagery used.

Outcome
The concept was inspired by triangulation in architecture and construction, which research revealed is often used to bring strength, balance and stability to structures. It also has great adaptability and is able to bring cohesion to irregular shaped areas. All of these attributes resonated with Jo’s vision for Urbanissta and represented what the consultancy would bring to the planning process for their projects. The three sides of the triangle also neatly reflected the three specialist areas of the building, Planning (general), Heritage and Landscape. Jo had also been previously heavily involved in the redevelopment of the Great Court at the at the British Museum, the glass ceiling of which uses triangulation in its design. This added an added personal resonance for the client to the design.
